A 27 page E book. Family Gathering is a collection of short essays which presents the culmination of my senior thesis at Columbus College of Art & Design. My studio and art historical practices are showcased through colorful images of artwork and quotes from my thesis paper Crafting Identity: Contemporary Craft Arts through a Feminist Lenses. The breadth of techniques and applications of both fiber art and printmaking are used in my work to create portraits of myself and my family members. These portraits give the viewer intimate insight into the lives of those portrayed in conjunction with complex social issues. I link my craft practice to other women artists using handed-down or discarded materials. This book presents the viewer with an all-encompassing understanding of my creative practice.
